Scott started his law enforcement career in 1997 in the Grosse Pointe Park Department of Public Safety as a certified Police Officer, Firefighter and Basic EMT. He joined the Warren Police Department in 2002 and has held various assignments while in Warren including Patrol, Detention Officer, School Resource Officer, Special Operations Unit, FBI Violent Crimes Task Force Officer, Evidence Technician, Traffic Enforcement, Abandoned Auto Officer, Fleet Manager, Mobile Field Force and Property room.
Scott is the has been on the Executive Board of the Christopher M Wouters FOP Lodge #124 since 2003 and is currently the President. He is also the Vice President of the Warren Police Officers Association, which is the collective bargaining unit for the Warren Police Department representing Officers, Corporals and the Communications Division.
Scott is also the State of Michigan Officer Wellness Liaison to the National FOP and the Warren PD Peer Support Coordinator. He is on the steering committee for FST5, which is a First Responder wellness program run by Wayne State University.
